Hybridization Ovens

Model 1004 "MINI" Hybridization Oven

The SHELLAB MODEL 1004 "MINI" HYBRIDIZATION OVEN offers high performance with precise temperature control, safety, and convenience. Our narrow frontal profile provides the added benefits of conserving precious bench top space, while still allowing for the convenience of a six bottle (300 mm) capacity carousel. This bottle carousel is easily removable to facilitate thorough cleaning of the oven chamber.

A Proportional/Integral/Derivative (P.I.D.) microprocessor temperature controller ensures that the temperature setpoint is reached quickly with not temperature overshoot. The temperature setpoint is easily adjusted by touchpad buttons located on the control panel front. And, a large, easy to read, LED display reflects the actual chamber temperature to a tenth of a degree.

Our unique, fan assisted airflow system circulates air evenly and continuously, delivering excellent temperature uniformity throughout the oven chamber. This airflow blower system also ensures fast recovery of chamber temperature after a door opening.

Accidental door openings are prevented by a PUSH TO TURN cam action door lock. Other safety features include a THERMAL BLOCK which is independent of the main microprocessor controller. This THERMAL BLOCK is factory preset and protects the unit from dangerously overheating. In the unlikely event of a microprocessor failure, this thermal cutoff will shut off the power to the heating elements.

High Performance Model 1012 Hybridization Oven

HYBRIDIZATION OVENS are fast becoming the preferred method of hybridization technique in today's laboratory. The ovens have virtually replaced plastic bags and shaking water baths because of the added safety and convenience they provide. Incubations take place inside the oven, under constant rotation, thereby providing even distribution of probe solution over the membrane. Exposure to radiation from leaking bags and the general inconvenience of loading and unloading bags is eliminated.

Low Profile
Large Capacity Carousel:
12/300 mm or 24/75 mm bottles
TEFLON coated bottle clips
Microprocessor temperature control
Automatic overtemperature (OTP) control
Rapid heat up: Ambient to
65 deg C in only 7 minutes
Variable speed control; 0-15 rpm
Incremental jogging switch
CAM ACTION door latch
Drip tray included
The SHELLAB HYBRIDIZATION OVEN offers high performance with precise temperature control, safety, and convenience. Our narrow frontal profile provides the added benefit of conserving precious benchtop space, while still allowing for the convenience of a twelve bottle (300mm) capacity carousel. In addition to the large capacity carousel, the SHELLAB MODEL 1012 incorporates TEFLON coated bottle clips for easy bottle replacement and removal. The TEFLON also prevents inadvertent scratching of the bottles.

A variable speed control optimizes the speed of rotation for a particular probe. The 0-15 RPM range permits hybridization and washing at different speeds of rotation at the touch of a dial. A separate jogging switch has been included to allow you to incrementally rotate (JOG) the carousel for easy loading and unloading.

The SHELLAB HYBRIDIZATION OVEN offers exceptionally high performance. You no longer need to wait twenty to forty minutes to reach target temperature. The SHELLAB MODEL 1012 heats from ambient to 65 deg C in only seven minutes and, our fan assisted airflow system circulates air evenly and continuously, delivering excellent temperature uniformity throughout the oven chamber.

The digital set/digital read P.I.D. microprocessor temperature controller maximizes rapid heat-up of the oven. An over-temperature safety (OTP) is automatically set by the microprocessor at 1.0 deg C above setpoint. In the unlikely event of a microprocessor failure, a thermal cutoff will shut off the power to the heating elements.
